Moving with Others
Since Summer 2023, I have offered movement-based sessions to re-connect with other-than-human beings and foster our relationships with them. It usually happens from Spring until Fall.
The second edition (2005) provides audio content, making the practice available worldwide.
Moving with Others is a self-funded, ongoing project; participants are invited to support with a donation.
More to perceive
During the Summer 2023, Ahia participated in the Summer School of FUNKEN Academy, as part of Chemnitz European Cultural Capital 2025. It took place in Chemnitz, Dresden and Linz (Austria).
She has been involved in INTERSPACES, directed by Noor Stenfert Kroese, a project dealing with mycelium. Each participant has offered diverse perspectives and approaches.
How can African and other philosophies of co-existing support the major civilization shift
happening, known as the ecological crisis?
How much are we aware of the non-humans?
These questions led to my creative research, shared through visuals and sound.
Actually, this journey started with the trees for me. They are the one who led me to mycelium!
On a regular basis, I connect to them, especially via dancing. It serves as a way to acknowledge our common abilities to move and our shared aliveness.
Part of my practice as a dancer/performer has been to host "Moving with trees" workshops.
The more I learn about the trees, the more I am uncovering.
